You have to pay attention when installing this product; there's a sleeve of paper not involved in a typical cartridge installation. The documentation is there, but I missed it and hosed the installation. I got a service person on the phone in under 3 minutes and got a replacement cartridge in 2 days.
Once up and running, I found print quality identical to HP cartridges costing 3 times as much, and it seems to print about the same number of pages. HP is a great company who makes great gear, but I'll never buy a HP cartridge again, at least for this laser printer.

Print quality is consistent. I'll check back if I get anywhere near the 2500 page yield. Much cheaper than name brand, for similar quality.

After replacing my first cartridge for a price of $93.00 at a local Office Depot, I was anxious to save a little, and knowing that the prices are usually considerably lower on Amazon I gave it a try. It seemed like a risk purchasing this cartridge for under $30, but I figured if it worked it would be worth the risk....and boy was it! It works every bit as well as the HP cartridge and for a third of the price. My only concern in the future will be to order one in time to have on hand when this one runs out, rather than stretching it like I do and running to the store.

I'm happy with the quality. I haven't compared to the HP toner, but if I were to ever find this toner deficient, then I could consider swapping in an HP cartridge for important jobs.
The toner was well prepared for shipping, with all of the stickers, inserts, and warning tape that you'd expect from a toner cartridge.
So far I plan to purchase again.

Bought this 15 months ago- only today did it start showing stripes. Took it out, shook it, and back to working perfectly. Even if it is running low, it's 15 months old and I probably print about 75-100 pages/month (1125-1500 pages total). I use an HP LaserJet 1018.
In comparison, the starter toner cartridge that came with the printer lasted me all of 4 months. Granted, the starter cartridge isn't filled nearly as much as the replacements, but if HP is going to try to scam me like that, well, then I won't buy any replacement toner from 'em. I'll get this compatible one every time.
Edit: 3 weeks after the first shake I'm getting striping again. But that's totally fine- that's like a 70 page warning before you have to get it replaced.
