I bought this to work in conjunction with a MicroSD card i was ordering at the same time. Luckily, the MicroSD card came with a standard SD adapter as it is needed for the two to interface properly. However, I've had no problems reading/writing to my microSD card. I cant vouch for any other memory formats as I dont have any other cards with which to test.

At a price (including shipping) of about 1/10 of many other SDHC card readers, this is a super bargain. I feel it is well-made - and it works well with all of my standard SD, SDHC, and Micro-SD cards(with adapter). The transfer rate is excellent - and with a 12mp camera this can be important.
Since it plugs in directly to a USB port, its 1 1/8 inch width could be a slight problem on some computers to squeeze in between other USB plugs - but I use a USB port extending cable to connect it (and other USB devices) to my desktop since the USB port locations are not convenient on my computer. A USB port extension cable is usually available for about $1 at many "Dollar Stores."
Overall, this is a super bargain product that works well. I bought a second unit to carry with my laptop since the built-in USB port will not read SDHC cards.
